TailorMate or VogueDesk? Picking the right fit for your shop

TailorMate is a tailor order app on Android, iOS and the web, with orders, measurements, worker tasks, PDF invoices and plans from ₹0 to ₹1,000 a month. VogueDesk is a browser-based boutique system with more on the business side, such as GST returns reports, attendance and payroll, job work with outside units and automatic WhatsApp updates. A small shop wanting a simple phone app may prefer TailorMate; a growing boutique with staff may prefer VogueDesk.

How VogueDesk is different

TailorMate keeps things focused on orders, workers and payments, with low monthly prices. VogueDesk covers more of the running of a boutique, which matters once you have staff and a bigger order book:

  • GST and returns. GST invoices with HSN/SAC codes, credit notes, recurring invoices, and GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-4 reports. See GST billing for tailors.
  • Staff, attendance and payroll. Attendance (present, absent, half day and so on), biometric machines that use the iClock protocol, salary structures, payroll runs and salary advances.
  • Piece-rate pay. Each karigar’s piece rate is multiplied by the tasks they finish.
  • Job work. Send garments to outside embroidery or dyeing units, track what’s out and back, and record contractor dues.
  • Automatic WhatsApp. Order created, ready, delivered and payment received messages from your own WhatsApp Business number.
  • Client self-service. An order-tracking link, a client portal for reference photos, and an online booking page for fittings and trials.
  • Finance. Expenses by category, a daily galla (cash register), vendors, purchase orders and a profit and loss report.

What you give up: VogueDesk has no Play Store or App Store app. It runs in the phone or computer browser instead. Its lowest paid plan also costs more than TailorMate’s Basic plan.
