Delivery is part of the order, not a separate job
More boutiques now deliver: a blouse to a client across town on the morning of her function, a lehenga to a bride in another state, alterations back to a regular client’s office. Usually that means copying the address into a courier app, pasting the tracking number into WhatsApp and checking back later. VogueDesk lets you book boutique delivery with Shiprocket and Porter right where the order already is.
Your carrier options
| Carrier | Best for | How it works in VogueDesk |
|---|---|---|
| Shiprocket | Courier anywhere in India | Booked from the order, tracked live |
| Shiprocket Quick | Same-city, same-day delivery | Booked from the order, tracked live |
| Porter | Same-city delivery of bigger parcels | Booked from the order, tracked live |
| Rapido | Quick local trips | Booked outside VogueDesk, recorded on the order |
You connect your own account for each carrier you use. Pickup addresses can be pulled in from your Shiprocket account so you do not set them up twice.
Getting the address right
Wrong or vague addresses cause most failed deliveries. VogueDesk saves a shipping address with a map pin on each client’s profile. Your staff can place the pin on a Google Map, or you can send the client a link so she pins her own location. The profile shows who set it, so you know how much to trust it. If you use WhatsApp updates, the location request can go out as a WhatsApp message.
Live tracking
After booking, carrier updates come in through webhooks. The shipment moves through booked, pickup scheduled, picked up, in transit, out for delivery and delivered. Problems show too, such as failed deliveries, cancellations and returns to origin (RTO), so you can call the client before she calls you.
Paperwork done for you
When you ship an order, VogueDesk raises a client delivery challan automatically. It sits with your other challans, such as job-work and inter-location challans, covered under inventory management.
How it works in VogueDesk
- Connect your Shiprocket or Porter account once.
- Make sure the client’s location is pinned, or send her the link to pin it.
- When the order is ready, open it and choose the carrier.
- Confirm the booking. The challan is raised automatically.
- Follow the status on the order until it shows delivered.
Choosing between courier and local delivery
For a client in the same city who needs her blouse by evening, a hyperlocal option like Shiprocket Quick or Porter is usually the right call. For a bride in another state, a Shiprocket courier with tracking makes more sense, and you can plan the dispatch date backwards from her function. Whichever you choose, the booking, status and challan stay on the same order, so anyone at the counter can answer “Where is my parcel?”
Who it is for
- Online and Instagram boutiques shipping to clients in other cities.
- City boutiques offering same-day home delivery.
- Bridal studios sending heavy lehengas that need careful handling.
The client can also follow her order on its tracking page. For tips on avoiding late deliveries altogether, read reduce delivery delays. Plans are on the pricing page.
