Buyer's guide

How to choose boutique software in India, with the main options

The best boutique software for you depends on your shop. Check that it stores measurements, tracks karigar work, makes GST invoices, sends WhatsApp updates, works on your phone, has a price you can see, and can import your old data. Tailoring apps such as VogueDesk (ours), Darzee, TailorMate, TailoBill and Boutique Manager focus on stitching work, while Vyapar, myBillBook and Tally are general billing and accounting tools.

What to look for in boutique software

Before comparing names, decide what your shop actually needs. These seven points matter most for Indian boutiques and tailoring shops.

  1. Measurements. Can it store dated measurements per client, so a blouse from last year and a lehenga this season don’t get mixed up? Does it cover the fields you use (bust, armhole, dart point, petticoat length and so on)?
  2. Karigar tracking. Can you assign each garment stage (cutting, stitching, embroidery, finishing) to a karigar and see what’s pending? Does it handle piece rates, attendance or outside job work if you use them?
  3. GST. If you are registered, you need GST invoices with HSN codes and CGST/SGST or IGST. Return reports save time with your CA.
  4. WhatsApp. Your clients are on WhatsApp. Check whether the software only shares a PDF or sends automatic order-ready and payment messages.
  5. Mobile. You will mostly use it on a phone. Check whether it’s a store app, a browser system or desktop-only.
  6. Price. Is the price published? What do the free plans actually allow?
  7. Data import. Can you bring in clients and measurements from Excel, or ledgers from Tally, instead of retyping?

The options, briefly

These are listed for information, not ranked. Facts about other products come from their own websites, checked on 31 October 2026.

VogueDesk (that’s us)

A browser-based system for boutiques and tailoring shops. It covers dated measurement sets with about 30 fields, orders with several garments, custom production stages, karigar assignments with time tracking and piece rates, attendance and payroll, outside job work, GST invoices with GSTR-1/3B/4 reports, automatic WhatsApp messages from your own number, and import from CSV (including Excel sheets saved as CSV) and Tally XML. No Play Store app; it runs in the browser. Free plan ₹0; Boutique ₹499, Studio ₹999 and Business ₹2,499 a month + GST; Enterprise custom (pricing).

Best for: boutiques with karigars, job work and GST billing who want it all in one place.

Darzee

Darzee’s site lists Android, iOS and web apps, with customers and measurements, orders, inventory with barcodes, production stages, staff roles, payments, Shiprocket shipping cost calculation and a storefront. It says pricing is localised with monthly or annual billing; exact prices weren’t shown on the page we checked. More in our Darzee comparison.

Best for: shops that want native mobile apps, or that sell ready products alongside stitching.

TailorMate

TailorMate’s site lists Android, iOS and web apps, with orders, measurements, worker task tracking, PDF invoices for WhatsApp and reports. Published plans run from Free (5 orders and 5 customers a month) to ₹200, ₹500 and ₹1,000 a month. See the TailorMate comparison.

Best for: small tailor shops wanting a simple, low-cost phone app.

TailoBill

TailoBill, from Liza Technologies, is described on its site as a downloadable computer application with a measurement book, stage tracking, multiple trials, counter-based user roles and stock tracking. Pricing is by quote. See the TailoBill comparison.

Best for: larger counter-based shops that prefer software on the shop computer.

Boutique Manager

Boutique Manager’s site describes a browser-based system for boutiques, tailoring and alteration shops, with a measurement vault, job cards, a production pipeline, tailor screens, trials and GST billing. Listed plans start at ₹799/month (Starter), with Growth at ₹1,499 and Professional at ₹2,999.

Best for: boutiques wanting a browser-based tailoring system with multi-branch options on higher plans.

Vyapar and myBillBook

Both are general GST billing apps for small Indian businesses. Vyapar’s site lists Windows, Mac, Android and iOS, with GST billing, inventory and accounting, and a free plan for mobile users. myBillBook’s site lists web, Android, iOS and PC, with GST invoicing, stock, e-way bills and e-invoicing. Neither is built around measurements or garment stages.

Best for: shops whose main need is billing and stock, not production tracking.

TallyPrime

Accounting software for books, GST returns, inventory and compliance. Tally’s site lists Silver at ₹750/month or ₹22,500 lifetime, and Gold (multi-user) at ₹2,250/month or ₹67,500 lifetime, before GST. Many shops keep Tally for accounts and use a tailoring system for the floor; see VogueDesk and Tally.

Best for: your accountant and the books, alongside a shop system.

How to decide

Shortlist two or three, then test each with a real week: add ten clients with measurements, create a bridal order with several garments, assign stages to a karigar and send a client update. Check how it feels on the phone you actually use. For more on what a full system covers, see boutique management software.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best boutique software in India?

There is no single best one. A one-person shop may only need a simple app or even a register, while a boutique with karigars, job work and GST billing needs a fuller system. Use the checklist on this page and try two or three on their free plans or trials.

Is general billing software like Vyapar enough for a boutique?

For billing, GST and stock, it can be. General billing tools are not built around measurements, garment stages or karigar tasks, so many tailoring shops pair them with, or replace them with, a tailoring-specific system.

Why is VogueDesk listed first?

Because it's our product and this is our site. The order of the other options is not a ranking.

Should I choose an app from the Play Store or a browser-based system?

Both can work well on a phone. Store apps install like any other app; browser-based systems like VogueDesk and Boutique Manager open in Chrome or Safari with nothing to install, and also work on a computer.
